We build gardens that hold up and grow into the place over time.

Some clients come to us because the last team didn't get it right. Patios moving after one winter, planting beds drowning because the drainage was rushed, joinery that looked good on the day but doesn't survive a Norfolk wind. We see enough of these jobs to know what good build work actually requires, and we set our standard accordingly.

The work starts with what you won't see. Foundations dug deep enough for the wet Norfolk ground. Drainage that pulls water away from where it shouldn't sit. Edging that holds a line through ten years of frost and roots. None of it shows in the finished photos. All of it determines whether the finished photos still look the same in five years.

Stonework, joinery, paving, planting. All of it is finished by hand by the same team that designed it. There's no junior crew brought in for the final fit-out. The person setting the first stone is the person setting the last.

We're flexible about how a project runs. Some clients want everything finished in a single phase before they move in. Others split the build across two seasons to spread the budget, or build the structure first and add planting later. We're happy to work in whatever way suits your situation, and the design is always drawn so it can be staged without losing coherence.

  • Laid with the right falls, the right foundations, and edging that holds its line. A well-built patio looks the same after ten winters as it did in its first summer.

  • Hardwood for longevity, softwood where the budget asks for it. Either way, the structure underneath matters as much as the boards on top: joist spacing, ventilation, and fixings that won't telegraph rust to the surface.

  • Most lawn problems start before the turf goes down. Proper soil preparation, levelling, and drainage are what make the difference between a lawn that establishes well and one that struggles.

  • Irrigation done well is invisible and saves more water than it uses. We design systems zoned to the planting, with timers and sensors that respond to the weather rather than the calendar.

  • Garden lighting that picks out what should be seen at night, and stays out of the way of what shouldn't. We layer path, accent, and ambient lighting, and choose warm temperatures that flatter the planting and the materials.

  • Wildflower planting is patient work, two or three seasons before it really settles. We choose the seed mix to suit your soil and aspect, prepare the ground, and explain the mowing routine that keeps it going year on year.
